REPORT: Oilers Officially Making Calls Regarding a Blackhawks Forward
Since being acquired by the Chicago Blackhawks from the Pittsburgh Penguins last season, Sam Lafferty has gained the admiration of the team's supporters. He has become a fan favourite due to his physical ability and fighting spirit. However, before the season is finished, he may be playing for a different team.
Sam Lafferty is reportedly on the Edmonton Oilers' radar, and they've made contact with the Blackhawks a few times because they think he may help their club as the season progresses into the trade deadline, per Elliotte Friedman.
Friedman also later adds that Noel Acciari is also a guy that the Oilers have looked at, but he doesn't know if it's feasible or not. Lafferty has scored 7 points in his first 24 games of the season, which puts him only 6 points shy of matching his career-high point total of 13, which he scored in 50 games for Pittsburgh in the 20192020 season. This season, Lafferty has played a bigger part for Chicago and hasn't held back while using his tough style. Over the upcoming months, he will undoubtedly be the object of several trade offers from rivals.
