One of the very few to reach the 1000 game mark in their career, Roberto Luongo is one of the most revered goalies in recent history. Although he played most of his career with the Florida Panthers, Luongo was a high-profile figure in his time with the Vancouver Canucks, so much so, that fans still send him hate mail to this day.

Moments ago on X, Luongo shared a hilarious angry fan letter sent to him and out his recent comments in favour of bringing back the Canucks black and yellow skate jersey more often.

Parts of the letter reads as follows:

Dear Mr. Luongo,
I was so very disappointed with your Free the Skate' comment in Vancouver on December 14th. Why would you do that? You don't live here, you don't work or play here. It made no sense at all That's certainly a kick in the teeth to the Vancouver Canucks team and to your former team mates that wore the blue and green. You never even wore the black and yellow so your comment was nothing but bizarre and worthy of an apology.

It's certainly a hilarious piece of hate mail to receive from a fan, especially about a subject so trivial like suggesting support for a special jersey. Luongo became a polarizing figure in Vancouver because of his contract, but in reality, he was a great goaltender for them.

It's no surprise that Luongo would've shared this type of mail received by a fan, as he's always been a fun guy and a good sport about this kind of thing. For hockey fans, it's a hilarious example of a fan taking things way too far, and the player making an example of him.
