The Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks Nearing a Trade For a Defensemen?
The Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland has been searching high and low to address one biggest issues, and that's acquiring another solid defenceman.
There's plenty of top defenders out there such as Montreal Canadiens Joel Edmundson, Arizona Coyotes Jakob Chychrun and and of course San Jose Sharks Erik Karlsson just to name a few.
There's been numerous reports that Holland has made inquiries about all three of these top players, However according to multiple sources the Oilers General Manager is also interested in acquiring another Sharks defenceman albeit a little unknown, that defenceman is Sharks Jaycob Megna.
Megna has earned an NHL spot after numerous years in the AHL, Megna has been playing on a pairing with Erik Karlsson. Megna would be the cheapest pickup for Holland who's already having cap space issues with the return of Evander Kane, meaning If Holland wants anyone more pricey it's gonna have to include a team retaining salary.
