The Golden Knights Are Set to Ruin Phil Kessel's Historic Iron Man Streak
The greatest active "iron man" run for consecutive games played belongs to Phil Kessel (1,015 games), which is extremely outstanding but also shows that it could be more destructive to organizations than beneficial.
Kessel's average nightly ice time has significantly decreased this season and is now just about eleven minutes. Against the Buffalo Sabres, Kessel was only on the ice for eight minutes, while fourth line players saw more action.
Given that their healthy players will soon be back, it appears as though the Knights will soon be benching Phil Kessel.
Guys on Insider Trading talking about how Phil Kessel's iron man streak could soon come to an end, he only played a handful of shifts in yesterday's loss to Buffalo, once Vegas gets some healthy bodies back, he could potentially become a healthy scratch.
As was previously said, Kessel only spent 8 minutes on the ice against the Buffalo Sabres, yet he still managed to allow two goals and finish the game with a -2 rating.
