The Oilers and Sabres are in on this defenseman
The Edmonton Oilers have made it clear that they prioritize filling the hole in their defense this off-season.
They aim to optimize the team after a disappointing performance against the Vegas Golden Knights and compete more effectively in the post-season.
One potential solution they are considering is acquiring
Brett Pesce from the Carolina Hurricanes.
If the Hurricanes cannot sign Pesce to a new contract, they have expressed interest in trading him.
However, the Oilers will need to make room in their salary cap before they can make any significant moves. It's worth noting that Pesce is from NY, so Buffalo might be a more attractive option for him.
Nevertheless, the Oilers, a contending team, may still have a chance to entice him to Alberta.
