Vegas Golden Knights Tie Oilers Historic Record

The former cup champions, Vegas Golden Knights, haven't lost a step as they went 5-0-0 through their first five games in the season. They are the third team in NHL history to do that. The other two? The 1921-22 Ottawa Senators and the 1985-86 Edmonton Oilers.
Vegas has Mark Stone, Adin Hill, William Karlsson, Alex Pietrangelo, and Jonathan Marchessault.
Well, the 1985 Oilers had the great Wayne Gretzky, who happened to have a remarkable 215-point season. Edmonton also had one of the best defenseman in NHL history, Paul Coffey. A couple other names are Jari Kurri and Mark Messier.
That Oiler team went 56-17-7, and were defending champions, but failed to win the . The Montreal Canadiens won the cup that year with the Calgary Flames being the runner-up. If Vegas can win their game tonight against the dwelling Blackhawks, they will have broken the Edmonton Oilers historic record.
