With Brad Treliving at the helm of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team has been busy adding talent to their roster at a rapid pace. Wayne Gretzky, a former NHL player and current NHL player, has offered his opinions on the matter.

According to Wayne Gretzky, Treliving was a great addition to the team, as he was considered to be quite talented.

During the interview, Gretzky went out of his way to mention the addition of Ryan Reaves, who has long been a favorite of those at TNT.

As Gretzky would do time and time again, he would make sure to mention how he strongly believed that Brad Treliving was the right choice for the Maple Leafs front office in the future. There was no mention in the article that Gretzky and Treliving worked together for a short period in Arizona.

Furthermore, The Great One mentioned that the Toronto Maple Leafs had been his father's favorite team when he was a child, so he would also be cheering for the team from now on.

My dad went to 35 of 40 Leafs games a year. I know that in his heart he wanted so badly, desperately to see them win the Cup so hopefully this is their year.

There is no doubt that Wayne's choice of the Leafs, as his hockey team, draws inspiration from his father Walter, who has played an integral role in shaping hockey culture much as Wayne himself has played an integral part in it.

In 2021, Walter passed away. While he would not have been here to see the Leafs win a cup, a cup victory would be quite sentimental for the Gretzky family.
