William Nylander Leaves The Maple Leafs Immediately After Elimination
In the face of a devastating defeat for himself, but came as no surprise, William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs wasted no time in mapping out his next move. Immediately following the Leafs' elimination from the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs at the hands of the Florida Panthers, Nylander swiftly boarded a plane back to his homeland, Sweden.
Sources reveal that Nylander has set his sights on joining forces with his brother, Alex, as they both proudly represent Team Sweden at the ongoing World Hockey Championships held in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia. Many NHL players that are not in the playoffs such as Alex Tuch, Milan Lucic, Scott Laughton and several more joined their respective teams weeks ago.
The highly anticipated tournament kicked off just yesterday, igniting the spirits of hockey enthusiasts worldwide. Nylander's commitment to donning the Swedish jersey in international competitions has been long-standing and impressive, and it will be exciting to see Team Sweden in action now.
