Auston Matthews Responds to Strange Connor McDavid Social Media Post, Confirming its Meaning

Auston Matthews has responded on social media to a strange message from Connor McDavid, which looks to confirm that the team will team up to recreate an old ad that featured Mats Sundin and Wayne Gretzky.
Yesterday, Connor McDavid made the first post to social media, tagging Auston Matthews and challenging him to make a shot.
Now, Matthews responded with a similar challenge. With still no official details, fans online are extremely confused to see the NHL's two biggest stars challenging each other.
However, Matthews responding back to McDavid and seemingly accepting the challenge furthers an earlier theory about the reason of these posts: recreating a Gretzky and Sundin video.
Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews to star in Remake of Ad that Featured Wayne Gretzky and Mats Sundin
Back in the 90s, Wayne Gretzky and Mats Sundin were in a McDonald's ad that's pretty funny to look back on. The two iconic players challenged each other to absurd shooting contests in an empty rink.
Given that McDonald's Canada also began teasing a major hockey event yesterday, it looks like McDavid and Matthews could be teaming up to recreate this old ad, or something new based off a similar idea.
It's a little disappointing that it's just promo for another ad, but at least it'll be something of a cool video between two of the NHL's biggest stars. In 30 more years, we'll look back on this video of McDavid and Matthews like the legends of Gretzky and Sundin.
