It was reported by NHL insider Frank Seravalli that Zadorov seems to be comfortable with asking the Vancouver Canucks or anyone in the NHL willing to pay him a deal that would be worth $6 million per season for six years. Zadorov career has taken a next step forward after he had spent several years with the Calgary Flames and was then dealt to the Canucks.
The 29-year-old defender has played 11 games and has scored four goals with four assists for eight point and is a + 4. His defensive players the reason why he is having an outstanding playoff as he has been a factor in every game in shutting down the opposition with his size and physicality.
Zadorov's play and presence certainly has threatened the possibility of Tyler Myers being re signed by the Canucks is far younger and still has plenty of game left where Myers is 34 years old that had a $6 million per season cap hit.
He is on the final year of his two-year deal that has a cap hit of $3.75 million AAV. Defence is the biggest issue with the Canucks going into this offseason as they currently have only three defensemen that are signed who are Quinn Hughes, Carson Soucy and Noah Juulsen. With fourteen players signed and $24.7 million in cap space it's likely that Jim Rutherford and GM Patrik Allvin will try to secure Zadorov.
It will be a busy summer for the Canucks like many teams in the NHL and it remains to be seen on whether Zadorov will stay on the West Coast or look elsewhere to other contenders throughout the league who are willing to pay him his ask.
