NHL reveals significant dates for next season, details of new Amazon broadcasts
Now that the majority of free agency has passed, the NHL is turning its attention to the next season already, beginning with scheduling the most important dates.
Today, the NHL released the full slate of games for the 2024-25 season for each team, allowing Oiler fans a peak at the next season.
 Season Opener - October 9
 First BOA - October 13
 Round 2 Rematch - November 9
Stanley Cup Rematch - December 16
Foegele vs Oilers - Decmber 28
Jeff Skinner returns to Buffalo - March 10 In addition to those important games on the calendar, the NHL has made some slight tweaks to the matchups over the whole season. Teams will play divisional opponents less, and the Oilers will only play the Canucks and Flames three times each. Also of note, the Oilers will play their first game in Utah on November 29th.
For the first time in decades in Canada, NHL games will also be broadcasted on a network other than Sportsnet, TSN, or CBC. This season Amazon has purchased the rights to Monday Night games. Fans will need to purchase Amazon Prime Video to watch these select games. The Oilers will play four times this season on the Monday night Amazon broadcast. Few details are known about their broadcast plans to date.
The Oilers are still eyeing plenty of offseason moves, and are fully preparing for another long run in the playoffs next season. With their great signings by President Jeff Jackson, the team is shaping up to be much better than a team that nearly completed a historic comeback in the Stanley Cup Final. Surely, the Oilers will be back next season.
