It appears that the old saying is true, time does heal old wounds. After a fractured split and spending many years elsewhere, both the Pittsburgh Penguins and NHL legend Jaromir Jagr has given indications that he may be back in the NHL for the long haul.
According to Josh Yohe who covers the Penguins for The Athletic, is saying that it appears that the Pittsburgh Penguins are preparing to offer a front office executive job to Jagr as they hope he wants to remain in the organization.
«The Penguins want Jagr to be an employee moving forward. I'm not sure what role. I think they'll take what they can get the more of Jagr's presence and hockey mind that he's willing to share, the better.»
His career in hockey has been incredible considering it began when he was drafted by the Penguins in 1990. Having won 2 Stanley cups, played for nine NHL organisations, and owns his own team in Czechia, he would certainly bring a wealth of experience to the Penguins front office along with being a great ambassador for the team as he has recently stated that he will always view Pittsburgh as his home.
With the team mired in evaluation and a potential rebuild on the horizon, Adding Jagr would be a great asset. It hasn't been made clear of what his role could look like.
The 52-year-old played 1733 games in the NHL, scoring 766 goals with 1155 assists for 1921 points it was a + 322.
