Oilers fans recognize fan favourite reporter with hilarious chant
Oilers fans have shown up in incredible numbers with intense passion for their team during this run to the Final, including showing some love to those around the team - like fan favourite reporter Gene Principe.
In a television segment before Game 4, Principe was in the Moss Pit with the fans covering the experience outside the rink, and fans showed some love with �We Love Gene!' chants.
Through the entire segment the fans chanted behind Principe, and towards the end of the hit Gene himself joined in on it. Afterwards, some fans and even other media members like Jack Michaels used the clip to praise Gene for the passion and personality in his reporting.
Sometimes, a few members of the Edmonton media can have a tumultuous relationship with the team based on their reporting - so it's great to show some love to Principe, who's ubiquitously loved in the hockey community. Not even Canucks fans could have a bad word about Gene!
Game 3 and Game 4 was a true spectacle in the city of Edmonton hosting the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006. Now it's up to the Oilers to bring the series back after a win in Florida, as McDavid said, dragging the Panthers back to Alberta. With their incredible fan support and level of play on home ice, it's hard to imagine the Panthers could lift the Cup in Rogers Place.
