Oilers players help fan stranded on the highway
Last night, a heartwarming story emerged on the Edmonton Oilers reddit page. According to a post, Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins saw a person stuck in snow on the road, and stopped their own car to get out and help. The person the helped happened to be an Oilers fan, who shared the experience.
It's an incredible story to hear from two of the Oilers fan favourite players, and players who also have a reputation for being down to earth guys. To stop their own car, probably carpooling back from the airport after their trip to Seattle, is a gesture they didn't have to make - but they did anyway, and that's the kind of people Hyman and Nuge are.
The fan on Reddit said they were reluctant to post a photo because the person was a minor, so we'll never see more of this event unless reporters ask the players about it. Still, it's a fantastic story to hear, and it only makes us Oilers fans bigger supporters of these two players specifically.
