Ron MacLean has cryptic message for Don Cherry
For decades, hockey intermissions in Canada had the hallmark of Coach's Corner with Don Cherry and hosted Ron MacLean. The program came to an end in 2019 after Cherry was embroiled in some controversy, but now just turning 90 years old, it was time for him to step away anyway. Cherry celebrated his birthday on February 5th this year, but just last night, Ron MacLean sent a message to Cherry celebratimg his birthday.
Us, when Grapes hit a Milestone and I was chasing one, so, recently. Canadians. Us like us - forever.
There was much speculation about the relationship between the two hosts after the show ended, but it appears that the two have mended fences and held a belated celebration for Cherry's recent milestone birthday. Along with the picture shared by MacLean, he attached an honestly bizarre and nonsensical passage (much like his Hockey Night segments) that seems to about his enduring friendship with Cherry.
It's great to see the two icons of Canadian hockey back together and still friends after the program's abrupt end.
