Over the past couple of weeks, several NHL insiders have spoken that Dubas is prepared to move many players in the effort to reshape his roster.
During the second intermission of Hockey Night in Canada, 32 Thoughts podcaster and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Penguins are willing to move their goaltenders in his segment "Saturday Headlines".
Friedman states that the Penguins have an upcoming goaltender with the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins and may be willing to move one or both of his current tandem to make room for rookie goalie Joel Blomqvist.
This is stunning development as Dubas had just re-signed Tristan Jarry to a new contract when he began his new position. Jarry holds an additional four years on his contract worth 5.375 million per season. Alex Nedeljkovic is on his final year of his deal at a very affordable 1.5 million per season.
Both goalies certain hold value as several teams are looking for goaltender help including the Edmonton Oilers. It would take a large package of players and picks to land Jarry, however the Oilers would secure their net for the next four seasons.
With the Penguins thin draft capital for the next two years an aging core, I feel that Dubas will pull this team apart and begin the rebuilding process that has been rumored for the past couple of seasons.
