The NHL is infamous across major sports for being the only one to allow fist fighting, and it's now drawn some support from actual professional fighters in UFC.

A few days ago UFC 304 took place, an exciting fight card for the night that saw a first time winner as well. Before the event, several fighters were asked to weigh in on some of the more intense fights in recent NHL history.

So... how do we organize a Paddy/Bieksa meetup?! 💥

Ahead of #UFC304, we had fighters share their thoughts on a handful of NHL KOs. 💪

One of the best involved was a fight back in 2017 involving Kevin Bieksa on the Ducks and Radko Gudas on the Flyers. The fight made waves across the sports world when Bieksa leaped in the air to knock out Gudas with a superman punch. Several of the UFC fighters were legitimately impressed by the move, and even wanted to meet Bieksa.

"Wow he's Superman punched him! Who's that? What's his name? Bieska? Need to meet him! He's a belter!" -Paddy Pimblett

"Ooo he did like a Superman punch on ice. I don't know how they fight on ice it's very impressive." -Tom Aspinall

It's awesome to see NHLers get recognition for the grittiest part of the game from the actual professional fighters in sport. You could say there's more than a few players who may as well double themselves as UFC fighters: Ryan Reaves, Pat Maroon, Matt Rempe and more.
