Spector criticized Dylan Holloway for passing up on hits on the forecheck, but Holloway is actually tied for second for most playoff hits this year.
Holloway has an incredible 74 playoff hits, just two behind the league leader Sam Bennett with 76. Holloway is actually the Oilers leader in hits by quite a few - Evander Kane is second place with 64 despite not playing every game, and Adam Henrique is a distant third with 48 hits.
Through this playoffs, the rookie Dylan Holloway has emerged looking like a legitimate player for the Edmonton Oilers in the future. Drafted 14th overall by the Oilers in 2020, Holloway clearly has the talents and abilities to be a great NHLer, but is just beginning to put the whole package together in the playoffs. Through 22 games so far, Holloway's score 5 goals and 7 points in mostly bottom six minutes, but has looked great alongside Draisaitl as well.
If Holloway continues this level of play, he'll give the media no choice but to respect the underrated physicality of his game, and his rising status in the Oilers organization. Starting next season, it seems Holloway has finally broke through to earn a full time spot on the roster.
