Because of his lackluster play lately, Jack Campbell has been waived for reassignment to the AHL.

In light of the Stanley Cup contenders' .876 save percentage and 4.50 goals against average, the move was understandable.

Lots of "We let Jack Campbell down," from Oilers players today at practice.
Woodcroft said it should be a message to rest of the roster, but in reality, only those who are locks to pass through waivers need worry.

With a 2-8-1 record to begin the regular season, the team has been inconsistent lately like Campbell. With a 43-saving performance against the Nashville Predators, Campbell has only won one game this season.

As the Edmonton Oilers practiced, Campbell's departure to the AHL was felt.

They verbalized the fact that Jack Campbell had been let down during practice.

In light of their terrible defensive play lately, it's truly no surprise that the team in front hasn't been playing well either.

In spite of out-chancing opponents lately, the team has struggled to finish. In addition, it is a legitimate combination of bad play and bad luck at the start of the season.

The team has to turn it around and finish its chances while keeping high-danger opportunities out of its defensive zone, in order to remain contenders.
