Heading into this season, the Edmonton Oilers were relying on getting some good value contributions from some of their younger players and recent draft picks. One of those players is Dylan Holloway, who was selected 14th overall by the club in the 2020 Entry Draft.

Unfortunately for both Holloway and the Oilers, after just 14 games this season Holloway suffered a severe wrist injury that was deemed to have a month-to-month recovery time. After missing just over a full month, Holloway is now set to return to the lineup in the next few games.

Holloway is currently travelling with the team through their California road trip, and is practicing with the team to get back up to speed.

The injury to Holloway came at a specifically demoralizing time for him. Holloway had just scored his first goal of the season and was seeking to settle in nicely with the team before being sidelined for so long with this injury. Hopefully, he can rekindle the quality of play he found prior to the injury when he makes his return to the lineup.

As a recent high draft pick of the Oilers, the team and its fans have high expectations for the young forward. At times in his career in lower levels than the NHL, Holloway has shown to have some serious offensive talent. If the Oilers can unlock his potential while he's still on an entry-level-contract, he could provide incredibly valuable depth scoring, and be a key part in the team's success.
