The Connor McDavid era has been brutal for the Edmonton Oilers, who currently sit at 5-12-1 and are out of the playoff picture, as of American Thanksgiving.

As a result of their current standing, teams do not have a chance at a playoff spot historically.

Oilers' goaltending woes have plagued the team, along with their poor offense and defense. In net, Jack Campbell and Stuart Skinner have not been reliable options, neither has Calvin Pickard, the third-string goalie.

TSN's Chris Johnston reports that the team is working internally to resolve its problems. Apparently, Ken Holland is satisfied with a .873 save percentage and one shutout with the Bakersfield Condors to fix the problem.

For Holland, it's more important to bring Campbell back into the fold than to solve the problem at hand.

One option to consider as well is Jack Campbell who has been down in the AHL playing in Bakersfield coming off a shut-out, is a potential option to come back up and rejoin the Oilers, so maybe, at least initially here in the short-term, that's the kind of move they might make to try and spark a better outcome.

Holland's decision to go this route would be another questionable move since Campbell has a meager save percentage of .886 and a 3.53 GAA in his career at Edmonton.

Regardless, Holland is on thin ice and this is his last season as GM, what is he doing?!
