As the NHL reaches the midpoint of the season, players across the league begin to feel some nagging injuries. These nagging injuries can either lead to a player on IR to heal up, or playing through the pain to varying degrees of success. Now, it's been confirmed that Evander Kane is dealing with such an injury.

Kane missed practice yesterday, and has been rarely present at previous practices and morning skates. Earlier today on OilersNation, Jason Gregor confirmed that Kane is dealing with an injury that is clearly affecting his play. As Kane is continuing to play, the team has not disclosed the exact injury.

Gregor wrote that Kane is clearly not as explosive with his speed and physicality during games, and it's clearly evident to the fans as well. Being an elite power forward, Kane needs these elements to his game to be effective for the team. Hopefully taking practices and morning skates off gives him enough time to rest and recover from this injury, while still playing to his full potential.

So far this season, Kane has been exceptional. In 26 games, he's recorded 12 goals and 22 points, while also leading the Oilers with 33 hits. When he's playing his best game, Evander Kane is a critical piece to the Oilers offence, and overall success.
