Cecily, currently battling brain cancer, first met Kane during the 2021-22 NHL season, and since then, their friendship has blossomed into something truly special.

Skating Together at Rogers Place

On this particular Wednesday, Cecily had the opportunity to hit the ice at Rogers Place, and Kane played the role of a supportive friend, helping her navigate the rink. Laughter echoed on the ice, capturing the genuine joy they shared�a heartwarming scene that Cecily herself shared on her Instagram account.

«Yesterday was pretty magical,» Cecily wrote. «Ever since my brain tumor, things with balance like skating are not as easy for me. But that's okay, I think I have a pretty good teacher now. Thanks for loving me [Evander] and not letting me fall.»

More Than Just Skating

Beyond their ice-bound adventures, Kane has consistently been there for Cecily during her challenging journey. The Oilers forward took a heartfelt step by attending one of her cancer scan days during the offseason. Moreover, he has generously opened his home to the entire Eklund family whenever they need a place to stay near Edmonton's Stollery Children's Hospital.

While Kane's off-ice compassion shines brightly, his on-ice performance with the Oilers has been nothing short of impressive. In the current season, the 32-year-old forward has notched 11 goals and 20 points in 21 games, showcasing his skill and dedication.
