Multiple Edmonton Oilers Make Crucial Equipment Change Following Tragedy
There have been some Edmonton Oilers players who have taken safety seriously.
As a result of Adam Johnson's death, a number of professional hockey players have taken some time to pause and think about what might happen if they were to suffer a serious injury.
An ice skate cut Johnson's carotid arteries after slashing his neck.
You can see the result of hockey culture changing here with Stuart Skinner, Darnell Nurse, and Evander Kane, all wearing Tilo cut-resistant baselayers by TJ Oshie's brand "Warroad".
After suffering a slashed wrist last season and missing significant time, Kane has changed his equipment to protect himself and to be there for his family.
The picture illustrates how a group of people willing to act can change culture for the better.
