Some teams have been successful other teams have not, however, the Oilers have been the most successful with their coaching change since November 21st.
Since the departure of former head coach Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson and the hirings of Kris Knoblauch and Oilers legend defenseman Paul Coffey, the Oilers look like a completely different team on the ice and in the standings.
It was tweeted earlier today, that the Oilers are making one of the best comebacks in team history.
Having only five wins on November 21st and within 47 days have a record of 15-4-0 an now holding a wild card spot is quite remarkable considering how miserable the situation looked.
The players were down and out, they didn't seem inspired or willing to play the game that was laid out by Woodcroft and now the team has gone back to what makes them who they are which is offence and sound defensive schemes from Coffey with clutch goaltending from Skinner.
As the team continues to ride its current seven game-winning streak and the team holding a playoff spot, i would expect general manager Ken Holland to begin searching for reinforcements through the trade deadline to help solidify the team going down the stretch including bottom 6 forwards and a veteran goalie for supporting Skinner.
These points are crucial in the standings as the Oilers are set to have a much tougher schedule in February all the way to the end of the end of the season as they will be playing many games especially back to backs.
