This morning, the Edmonton Oilers finally made the move to recall forward Dylan Holloway from the Bakersfield Condors, and have reassigned James Hamblin to the AHL.

The move marks the end of Holloway's conditioning assignment in the AHL after sustaining a serious shoulder injury earlier this year. In 4 games with the Condors on this stint, Holloway has looked incredible, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. After playing 14 games with the Oilers earlier this year, Holloway is now expected to travel and meet the team in Calgary, and will make his return to the lineup tonight.

Drafted 14th overall by the Oilers in the 2020 NHL Draft, the team has high hopes for what Holloway can provide down the stretch of the season. He clearly has offensive talent, but it hasn't been able to translate into depth scoring for the Oilers just yet. His incredible performance at the AHL level has been encouraging, and hopefully he can continue that success with this call-up.

Now with Holloway and Gagner returning to the lineup, the Oilers have a much more skilled look to their bottom six, adding even more lethality to their offence. With both players returning after injury, Adam Erne will also likely come out of the lineup and serve as the 13th forward.
