There are signs that Edmonton Oilers have moved on from their head coach and goaltender
It appears that the Edmonton Oilers are at an impasse with Woodcroft's coaching regime.
As the regular season has begun, Jay Woodcroft's leash has tightened due to his abysmal 2-7-1 record.
According to NHL Insider Mark Spector, the Oilers have considered all options in regard to solutions. This includes removing incumbent coach Jay Woodcroft.
"A playoff miss is very much in the cards, and as such, everything is on the table in Edmonton. That includes firing head coach Jay Woodcroft, whose non-competitive, lackadaisical team looks exactly like the one that got Dave Tippett fired, and Todd McLellan before him."
How long will the team keep Jay Woodcroft? One cannot blame Woodcroft alone for the team's goaltending woes. Although defensive structures are definitely to blame, both goalies have been poor of late.
«They need to show something significant on this road trip or there will be changes»

on whether Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft's job is in jeopardy, how Edmonton can get things on track and what's been missing from McDavid & Draisaitl:
Since Campbell has been playing so poorly lately, the team has considered moving on from him, even though he still has three years left on his contract.
Despite his talk in the off-season about working on the psychological aspects of the game, Campbell's struggles are unique. The goalie has a 1-4 record eight games into the regular season. His GAA is definitely one of the worst things about his game this season. He has a dismal 4.5 in four games played, only better than Mackenzie Blackwood, who has a 4.78.
More or less, Campbell no longer plays at an NHL level as his GAA ranks 56th.
"No player has said it specifically, but this reporter senses that these professional players know what they see, and have turned the page on any hopes that Campbell can help an NHL team anymore."
jack campbell has to make this save on tommy novak.
