Cody Ceci admits hard feelings about his trade off the Edmonton Oilers

In a recent interview with the What Chaos Show, Cody Ceci opened up about the difficult feelings that came with his trade from the Edmonton Oilers to the San Jose Sharks.
Ceci said that he was solely focused on winning a Stanley Cup with his teammates, and subtly said that it will be hard to step away from the team before they win. However, he understands the business of the sport aspect that forced his trade, and has a positive attitude towards his opportunity with the Sharks. Looking back on his time with the Oilers, Ceci said he'll never forget his teammates and the runs they went on.
It surely would be jarring going from one of the top teams in the NHL and expecting to win a Stanley Cup to one that's projected to finish near last place. Ceci handled the tough questions professionally, but there's a solid chance he's leaving behind the best chance to win a Stanley Cup in his career.
Cody Ceci is now a 786 game veteran of the NHL, and has played with the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Pittsburgh Penguins as well as the Oilers. In the last three seasons with Edmonton, Ceci was able to earn the coach's trust for top four minutes consistently and had some success - but also some obvious defensive gaffs.
The Edmonton Oilers arguably needed to trade Ceci anyway to upgrade their defence heading into next season, but they weren't able to get that upgrade right away. The Oilers received a promising young defenceman in Ty Emberson in exchange for Ceci, but it's unknown if he'll be able to stand up to top four minutes on a cup-contending team.
Hopefully, Ceci succeeds in his time with the San Jose Sharks, and is dealt at the trade deadline to another playoff team. Oilers fans will wish him the best in the next chapter of his career.
