Connor McDavid recently explained why the team is comfortable opening up in the new Amazon Docuseries.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid hopes the new Amazon series that's set to air on Friday October 4th will break the image many have giving him as the team allowed cameras unfiltered during the Stanley Cup finals.

Over the last decade, McDavid has built a reputation and an image that people feel he doesn't have much personality and is very stoic which was completely shattered during the filming of this series. McDavid spoke how the cameras or give fans a new view on himself and what the team went through as they battled through the cup finals which they lost in game seven against the Florida Panthers.

"I would definitely say that I am an introvert," McDavid says in the show, "that causes more stress and anxiety. Off the ice, you have to deal with the media and the fans."

"I get called boring, I get called a robot. It's tough, it's challenging," reveals McDavid.

McDavid also spoke about how players felt after losing Game 7 combat the cameras caught the raw emotion that poured through that room as the minutes ticked along.

"There was a lot of pain in that room," McDavid said to the producers in Episode 5. "I can't even explain it to you. You've just gone through months and months of grinding, working; all these ups and downs, peaks and valleys."

Last year's season had been an emotional time for the Oilers as the team went through several major hurdles as the opening month and 1/2 for the season the Oilers were dreadful.

Sitting 31st out of 32nd near the end of November, the Oilers made a coaching change and brought in rookie head coach Kris Knoblauch along with Oilers legendary defenseman Paul Coffey who both took this team from the bottom and skyrocketed within a few points of the Vancouver Canucks and the Pacific division by the end of the year.

They had an incredible winning streak of 16 games in a row and an amazing journey through the Stanley Cup playoffs which included a incredible comeback only to come up short in Game 7.

It's safe to say the Oilers have unfinished business this year and hope that they could take this team back to the Stanley Cup final and this time raise the cup. Only time will tell on how well they will perform.
