Oilers Captain Connor McDavid Has worn the exact same outfit for the past three games as he enters the arena and during the early minutes of Game 6 it had paid off.

Earlier during a media scrum, McDavid gave the impression that it was a normal day of hockey as the Oilers prepared for their chance to punch their ticket into the Stanley Cup finals. He described that the energy from the fans will continue to raise up their game and that the Oilers can give them some joy as this would be the first time they would go to the Finals since 2006.

"It feels like any other day."

It didn't take long for that superstition to pay off as in the opening minutes of the game, McDavid scored a disgusting goal which helped put the team up 1-0.

McDavid did a great bait and switch and put a beautiful backhander past Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger which sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Some players have extensive routines that they do every game to keep their mental sharpness and two quell any superstitions they may have but it appears McDavid may have found one as the Oilers just punched their ticket with a 2-1 win to head to Florida for the Stanley Cup Finals.

McDavid also kept another supersition at bay as he did not touch the Clarence Campbell Bowl when they were awarded as the Western Conference Champions.
