During the post game remarks with Paige Martin, Oilers forward Evander Kane shared his feelings on playing for the city of Edmonton and the organization. It was clear that he is enjoying himself after his trade from the Sharks in 2021.

These remarks are certainly interesting considering Kane has had a tough season with the Oilers let alone his career after suffering a gruesome wrist injury two years ago.

After taking the Oilers by storm and becoming a force in the offensive zone with a 22-goal outburst in 43 games and being a + 25, Kane's production has taken a huge hit and has not lived up to the contract that was given to him by general manager Ken Holland, which has had several fans shouting for his trade out of town.

Throughout the year, head coach Kris Knoblauch has scratched Kane at times which has not gone well for the 32-year-old left winger. He has gone long stretches without any points and has watched his ice time diminish to less than 15 minutes a game.

Kane recently snapped a 21-game goalless Streak as he put two past Alexander Georgiev in the 6-2 win against the Avalanche.

Beside all the negativity, Kane has been active in the community and has befriended many people including a 10-year-old young girl Cecily Ecklund who is battling brain cancer. He has gone to birthday parties, CFL games and other major events with with Ecklund to give the young girl some checks marks on her bucket list.

With the playoffs on the horizon, many fans hope that Kane will heat up and become the dominant force once again as the team will need him for a long playoff run.
