Former Oiler Says Darnell Nurse Has a Plan to Deal with Ryan Reaves Comments

Strudwick thinks that Nurse has taken this hit personally as several weeks ago Reaves was suspended for five games after his vicious hit to the head against nurse when the Maple Leafs played the Oilers in Toronto.

Strudwick also believes that Nurse will not let this go and will try to get his pound of flesh. Reaves stated that he tried to apologize to nurse after he was kicked out of the game But this reception was cold and Reaves explained that he will continue to play the way he does, to inflict pain and do it legally.

It remains to be seen on whether the Maple Leafs will play Reaves that night as all eyes will be on both teams. The rivalry between the Maple Leafs and the Oilers has intensified over the past number of years especially when both teams faced off against one another during the bubble season of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Nurse returned to hockey several days after the hit as the damage was not as severe as many thoughts. Nurse is a vital part of the Edmonton defense and caused the team to have a large hole in their blue line.

General manager Stan Bowman has made it clear that he is making every attempt to shore up their defence as the current configuration is not good enough for a long-sustained playoff run. Many expect the Oilers to be busy near the March trade deadline but with nurse back in the lineup, it gives them a sense of relief.
