The San Jose Sharks will be visiting the Edmonton Oilers tomorrow night in one of the final games before the holiday break, but fans won't get see former Oiler Klim Kostin.

The former Oilers fan favourite has been going through a rough time in San Jose this year, even being healthy scratched for weeks at a time.

Unfortunately, Kostin revealed he's been ruled out with an injury for tomorrow night's game at Sharks at practice.

It's not for lack of trying, either. Kostin was placed on the IR just 6 days ago, but today was at practice in a regular jersey and putting in extra work, perhaps to be ready to face his old team. For both Kostin and Oilers fans, it's a drag he can't play.

Oilers fans may adore Kostin and want him back when thinking about his electric run with the team in 2022-23, but outside of Edmonton, he's struggled to stay in the NHL.

This season with the Sharks, Kostin has only 1 goal and 4 points in 20 games, and could soon find himself on waivers if his play doesn't turn around.

With the Oilers, Kostin was still a physical forward, but potted a career high of 11 goals and 21 points in 57 games, along with a great playoffs.

The big Russian power forward also embraced the city of Edmonton with open arms, even referring to it as his second home, and coming to watch more playoff games as a spectator.

Hopefully Kostin will still at least be in the building tomorrow night, and can reunite with some of his former teammates in Edmonton - maybe even stop by To see some fans and media too.
