Canucks decline Nurse's invitations to fight showing how soft the team is.
Despite Nurse's poor performance through this year's playoffs, he is always sticking up for his teammates. Nurse is a great teammate even though he isn't a great performer and always looks to get the guys going with a big penalty kill or a big hit.
That sentiment showed in this funny clip that surfaced from game 7 against the Canucks, where he wanted to take on anyone from the Canucks but everyone seemed too scared to take him on.
This is how Nurse brings his value into the team, through the heart he plays with. He's looking to fight someone to get the team going in the most important time while also taking a Canucks player out of the game for 10 minutes.
It's funny to watch a guy as big as Zadorov pretending not to hear Nurse because he doesn't want to have to fight him. He also had a great game in game 7 as he was very strong on the puck and played a great defensive game.
If we can see more of this confident, decisive Darnell Nurse then that would be a great sign for the Oilers going forward. Nurse will never be able to make up for the massive hole his contract puts the team in, but if he can make up for as much of it as possible then I'd consider that a success from him.
