As the seconds counted down in game six of the Stanley Cup finals, longtime Oilers announcer Jack Michaels gave a proper send off to the team as they won 5-1 and forced the Game 7.

The 50-year-old play by play announcer for the Oilers has been with the organization since 2010. He began his career in Colorado Springs when he was a full time hockey announcer for the WCHL's Colorado gold kings. After spending some time in Anchorage AK, he then moved to the ECHL and then to the NHL in 2010.

Oilers fans have enjoyed his great commentary, and it will be historic when the Oilers take on the Panthers in Game 7. The last time a team was down three games to none to force a game seven in the Stanley Cup finals was the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1945. The Leafs ended up winning the game and winning the
Stanley Cup against the Detroit Red Wings 2-1.

As for the Oilers, all fans can do is wait and watch to see if their team can complete the dream and watch Connor McDavid along with his teammates lift the Stanley Cup for the sixth time in franchise history.

Game 7 will be on Monday June 24th and game time will be 8:00 PM eastern.
