Leon Draisaitl annoyed with media asking about Canucks and Oilers
During their practice earlier today, Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl stopped to talk to media members who asked him about the significance of the regular seasons record between the Canucks and the Oilers. An annoyed Draisaitl quickly spoke up and brushed off the question stating the regular season results do not matter.
The results were stark as the Canucks swept the Oilers during the regular season 4-0 while it was scoring them by a wide margin of 21-7. Draisaitl does have a point that both teams have changed over the past several months with players being added and subtracted especially at the trade deadline.
The Oilers went on a tear down the stretch and were within striking distance of the Canucks for first in the Pacific division. With both teams set to do battle, the Oilers are the heavy favorites especially since the Vancouver Canucks do not have their starting goaltender in Thatcher Demko.
The Oilers are also number one in special teams across the entire NHL as they are perfect in the penalty kill and 1st in power play.
As Draisaitl states, both teams are ready and it will be a tight series but it's likely the Oilers will prevail to move on to the Western Conference final.
