He feels that the 30-year-old defenseman has an absolute 100% trade market available as Oilers president and interim general manager Jeff Jackson continues to reshape his roster. There are many fans who feel that the Oilers should move on from Ceci as he is gaffe prone from time to time which has been costly to the team. Seravalli says there's a market on him however, which means multiple teams actually see Ceci as a player worth paying assets for.
Many feel that his style does not line up with either Darnell nurse, Mattias Ekholm or even Evan Bouchard Which leaves many question marks for management to decide. He is on his final season of his four-year $13 million contract which holds a cap hit of $3.25 million.
There are several teams in the NHL that are still looking for serviceable defensemen and numerous teams looking for veteran help even though many are still rebuilding their rosters. It's likely that the Utah Hockey Club, Anaheim Ducks and even the Chicago Blackhawks could be avenues for him to be moved.
As the offseason rolls along, Jackson is settling into the interim general manager's role and has made significant changes to the roster already with several moves potentially in the wind. It's likely that he would field calls for Ceci as he is looking for defensive help and could use his salary to help bolster his lineup.
