Tyson Barrie, Kailer Yamamoto, Jujhar Khaira, Tyler Pitlick, Caleb Jones, Chris Wideman, Justin Schultz, and Milan Lucic all remain unsigned.
A few names on that list may struggle to find an opportunity to continue their NHL careers, and there's a few very interesting names.
800 game veteran Tyson Barrie had a very poor season with Nashville, requested a trade, but the Predators never found a suitor. Former Oiler first round pick Kailer Yamamoto scored only 8 goals in 59 games with Seattle last year, and was dropped in the lineup all season. Justin Schultz had a solid season with the Kraken, scoring 7 goals and 26 points in 70 games. Those players, despite struggles, should find another opportunity in the NHL.
On the other hand, the other players may struggle to find another NHL opportunity for the start of next season. All players spent time between the AHL and NHL, and haven't proven to be a NHL player in their career. Milan Lucic is the exception, who's since left the NHL due to a legal situation.
The Edmonton Oilers likely wouldn't explore a reunion with any of these players because the roster is already so deep, but it's still interesting to track players over their career.
