The Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks are officially set to square off in the second round of the playoffs, and even the planning stages are providing entertainment for fans. Now, the playoff broadcast team for the Oilers series has changed because of the Leafs failure.

A few days ago, it was expected that Harnarayan Singh and Louie DeBrusk would be calling the Oilers and Canucks series, but now it's officially been announced that Chris Cuthbert and Craig Simpson will be the crew on the all-Canadian series. So far, many fans have taken to social media with positive reactions for landing Cuthbert.

Singh is a much more reserved, neutral observer in his game calls on the national stage, which can sometimes bring the impression of being disinterested by both sides. Hilariously enough, Canucks fans think there's bias against them, and Oilers fans also think there's bias against them.

Chris Cuthbert on the other hand is praised universally for his quality, entertaining, neutral calls. This choice has seemed to satisfy fans on both sides of the rivalry. While it would be incredible to have homer broadcasters like Jack Michaels and Johnny Shorthouse call these highly intense playoff series, hockey fans will be very fortunate with Cuthbert behind the mic.

The Oilers-Canucks series is set to begin this Tuesday in Vancouver, but the official schedule has yet to be released at this point. Obviously the schedule is important, but with just watch games like these, fans will drop everything to support the team no matter when the games are.
