Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch spoke to reporters prior Game 3 on how he feels about Oilers forward Evander Kane progress in his game and what he is looking for as the team prepares to play in Los Angeles.

Through two games, Kane has no points and is a -1 which is not acceptable as he was brought to the team for offense and toughness. He has been playing better, but he's playing hurt through a hernia, and he's admitted himself he's not near 100% healthy.

Kane, has been under fire from numerous people as the team and the coach staff are trying to light a fire under him. There have been times when Corey Perry and Leon Draisaitl have been seen arguing and trying to explain what they expect as the team went down the stretch. Many feel including Elliotte Friedman that this was planned by the coaching staff.

Kane himself knows that he needs to be better and even spoke about this after Game 1's 7-4 win.

Having Kane become the force he was when he came to the Oilers several years ago is what the Oilers need to be more elite and dispense their opponents quickly. His tough style of play and making opponents life difficult is what's in order.

The Oilers ended up splitting their series and are now on the road to play Game 3 in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena. The Oilers will need to tighten up their defense as the team has surrendered 9 goals in two games.

Game time will be at 10:30pm Eastern.
