Tonight, boxer Jake Paul is getting in the ring with one of the most feared men in the world in Mike Tyson, and Oilers forward Evander Kane wants to get in on the action too.

Four years ago, Kane sent out a message directly challenging Jake Paul to a fight when the internet star began in boxing. At that time, Kane set a date, time, and place, showing that he was serious about the fight.

Today, as Paul and Tyson are close to squaring off, Evander Kane brought up the challenge again. Kane confidently said in an Instagram comment that he would absolutely win in a fight over Jake Paul, basically extending the challenge.

It's crazy to see Evander Kane seemingly still ready and willing to step into the ring with Jake Paul. Given his direct challenge it maybe would've even happened by now, but surely, the NHL and the Edmonton Oilers would have a problem with Kane putting himself at risk of injury in another sport.

That said, when his hockey career is over, Evander Kane definitely has the chops to enter boxing if he wanted to. Kane stands at 6'2 tall, almost 220 pounds, and has fought several dozens of times over his NHL career.

He's an explosive fighter with plenty of experience, and could probably hold his own against any professional fighter. Kane is now 33 years old, so if he retires within the next few years, he could have a short boxing career.

Unfortunately, Kane has been on the sidelines for the entire season so far while recovering from surgery. According to the most recent reports, Kane is expected to return sometime early in 2025. When he returns fully healthy, it will be a major addition to the Oilers as a power forward with the ability to score 30 goals.
