In tonight's game for the WHL's Portland Winterhawks, new Oilers prospect James Stefan put the cap on an incredible season by surpassing the 50 goal and 100 point milestone.

In tonight's game with the Winterhawks, Stefan added another 2 goals and an assist on just 5 shots. According to spectators, Stefan showcased an incredibly lethal shot from Ovechkin's patented slot on the top of the faceoff circle.

James Stefan is an instantly interesting player just by virtue of his father. The former first overall bust Patrik Stefanwas selected by the Atlanta Thrashers, and played in less than 500 games before finding himself out of the NHL. James doesn't need to be associated with that at all as a player, but it always will be a storyline.

Now 20 years old and undrafted in the NHL, James skyrocketed his value this year with his breakout season in the WHL, nearly doubling his goal and point totals. Stefan's showing a natural ability to be an offensive threat, which is exactly why the Oilers were interested in him. In a somewhat depleted prospect system looking for secondary scoring,
James Stefan has become one of the higher ceiling players.
