Both Adam Henrique and Evander Kane haven't practiced with the team since the series ended against the Kings. Some depth forwards have filled in for them in the lineup, which is indicative that Knoblauch is hopeful they'll be able to return for game 1. Still, it wasn't a guarantee that both players would be able.
We know Evander Kane is battling a sports hernia that he's played through all season, so him taking maintenance days is understandable. Despite his injury, Kane was a physical force against the Kings. With Henrique, the Oilers have publicized zero details about whatever's ailing him.
Still, being the playoffs, it should be expected that both Evander Kane and Adam Henrique will play through whatever injuries are ailing them in game one against Vancouver. With the full series schedule now released, hopefully they can game plan to enter the series later, even if they can't play game one.
Even if the team isn't at full strength health, the Oilers should be able to take care of business against the Canucks. A key to success in this series may be jumping on rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs quickly, as Thatcher Demko could possibly make an appearance later in this series.
