Since signing with Edmonton last offseason season, Zach Hyman has been everything the Oilers could've wanted and more. This year Hyman's launched to new heights and is on pace to soar past the 50 goal mark. He's also been tearing it up at home lately, and has now actually tied Gretzky's record for the longest home scoring streak in franchise history.

Hyman's 15 goals in the last 10 games puts ties Gretzky's record set in the 1981-82 seasons where he set the all time record for goals in a season with 92. To think that Zach Hyman, not the most skilled player but the hardest worker has tied a Gretzky record is absolutely unbelievable.

In fact, that perception of Zach Hyman is probably outdated now. he came to the Oilers with a reputarion of giving his dogged effort every shift which led to success, but his effort has completely transformed him into one of the most lethal players in the league.

It's actually possible right now for Zach Hyman to record a 60 goal season. He would become one of just a handful of players to do so in the salary cap era, and doing so at just $5.5M on his contract makes him one of the most valuable players in the league. The Edmonton Oilers are literally blessed to have Zach Hyman, who is everything you could want in a pro hockey player.
