John Tortorella has a hilarious reason for Flyers' win
Heading into this season, nobody had high expectations for the Philadelphia Flyers. Although they're still clearly rebuilding their roster, head coach John Tortorella is consistently getting valiant efforts from the team, and the team is proving to be competitive.
After last night's 4-3 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, a team that has much higher expectations than the Flyers, Tortorella gave a brash, honest, and true reason for their success.
We win the game because we have balls. We do. We do stupid stuff, we don't make some plays sometimes but the one thing we do have is balls.
This type of answer is true to the character of Tortorella, and it's easy to see it rub off on his team. Torts speaks the truth here - they're not the greatest skill team, but their hard work and determination will win games.
As of now, the Flyers are tied for the second wild card spot in the East. Hopefully, the Flyers can be a story to watch this year, as they potentially push for a playoff spot. The NHL is always better off when the Flyers are competitive, and especially when they play with attitude.
