Canucks star drops the gloves in a spirited fight
Moments ago in a game between the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres, Canucks' star JT Miller showed off his famously intense competitiveness and anger in a spirited fight with Sabres' veteran Erik Johnson.
Halfway through the second period, the two fighters dropped the gloves in unison at the blue line and Miller launched himself low and with speed in an initial attack on Johnson. When he got up with body position, the two threw repeatedly hard right hooks at each other, until Miller landed one final punch that sent Johnson to the ice.
It's a great, old fashioned, hardcore hockey fight - and they're always better when there's stat player involved. Miller's leading by example, and dragging the Canucks into the tough type of hockey they'll need in the playoffs. Maybe this spirited fight will bring the rest of the Canucks into a more physical game. It's this kind of play and team toughness that could seriously benefit the Oilers in the playoffs, instead of just coming from the now-injured Evander Kane.
