Flames forward may face suspension after destroying Adam Larsson with dangerous hit
Late in the first period of tonight's game between the Seattle Kraken and Calgary Flames, Martin Pospisil laid an absolutely massive hit on Adam Larsson.
Larsson went to play a puck along the boards in the defensive zone, and Pospisil had him lined up all the way for a hard body check. Just as Larsson played the puck, Pospisil connected and sent him flying into the boards and down to the ice.
Surprisingly there was no penalty call on the play, and the Kraken didn't even respond with a scrum for the massive hit as has become customary. Fortunately Adam Larsson wasn't injured on the play, and maybe for those reasons alone, it feels unlikely that Pospisil will face a suspension or a fine for this hit.
Especially considering Larsson was okay, this now just appears to be a classic massive old fashioned hockey hit.
Later in the game, Pospisil was ejected for another brutal hit, this time against Vince Dunn. Now, he'll definitely be facing a suspension.
