Kailer Yamamoto, earned his first points of the playoffs at the most important time.
With 3 mins left in the game Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto, scored to take the lead and eventually earn the game winning goal. Closing out the series and defeating the Los Angeles Kings in back-to-back years.
Stuart Skinner, is the only reason the Oilers are in this position right now. He helped the Oilers find their groove again during the second half of the season. On the road in this series, Skinner struggled but at home he fought back and looked more comfortable. Although Jack Campbell did have to make an appearance in Game 4, it didn't last very long as Skinner proved himself again. This being Stuart's first ever NHL Playoffs and only being 24, the performance he is putting on is remarkable.
A lot of people thought Connor McDavid was held quiet compared to his normal standards. Connor, was still able to post 10 points in 6 games. Last year against the Kings, McDavid had 14 points in 7 games, so really not to much of a difference from series to series.
The star of the series has to be Leon Draisaitl. Leon is top 2 in points (11), first in goals (7) in just 6 games. In 16 games last post season Draisaitl had 25 points, finishing with more than McDavid who had 23.
The Edmonton Oilers will now lock up with the Vegas Golden Knights, who owned the Pacific division and had just 2 points on the Oilers with 111. All 3 of the Kings, Oilers, and Knights were neck and neck in the standings this season. The Oilers won the season series over the Knights going 3-0-1. The last time the Oilers had a losing season record to the Knights was in 2018-19, going the opposite 1-3-0.
