With a new job comes new challenges and Ryan Huska was recently promoted to the NHL from the Calgary Wranglers.

As Huska enters the Battle of Alberta, he must find a way to neutralize Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid. Huska recently appeared on The Rink podcast to discuss many NHL topics.

«It's a challenge,» Huska admitted. «They're two of the best players in the game for a reason. Their skill is exceptional, and the way they play the game with the speed, it makes it a real challenge to devise a game plan to play against them. When you're on the bench at times, I still watch them skate around in warmup a lot. The talent level these guys have is off the charts, but they're surrounded by really good players too, so playing against them is a difficult challenge for any team, and it's one we're going to make sure we're prepared for.»

Among them was his experience coaching against the dynamic duo of the Oilers. Although he hasn't had firsthand experience as a head coach facing the two, he has seen it as an assistant for five years in Calgary.

Huska acknowledges the challenge of dealing with their skill and abilities. In terms of points this season, Draisaitl is just behind Alex DeBrincat with four, and McDavid has three.

If the Flames are to win another game in the Battle of Alberta after replacing Darryl Sutter as bench boss, Huska will need to solve the puzzle of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
