Alex Pietrangelo could face a suspension should DOPS see fit
The upcoming game between the Florida Panthers and Vegas Golden Knights will surely be a fierce battle in the Vegas arena.
Despite being down 3-1 in the series, the Panthers are not giving up yet.
However, there is a chance that defenseman
Alex Pietrangelo could face the consequences if George Parros and the DOPS decide to suspend him. Pietrangelo left the penalty box and engaged in an altercation instead of returning to his bench after his penalty expired, which goes against the rules.
The rule states that if a player leaves the penalty box and starts a fight or instigates a penalty, fight or scrum, they could face penalties during play and a 10-game suspension.
However, the suspension may be waived if the opponent started the altercation.
Depending on the DOPS ruling and interpretation, Pietrangelo may be unable to play for the remainder of the series.
It remains to be seen if the DOPS will make a fair and just decision.
